Edinburgh’s Voujon restaurant is celebrating its fourth birthday this week with a cocktail which has been specially designed by Liam Conboy, bartender at EH2 Tempus. Called the Curry Cooler, the Bengali and Indian restaurant’s birthday cocktail reads like a liquid raita with Hendrick’s Gin joining cucumber, natural yoghurt, mint leaves and lime juice all in the same glass.

Less self consciously wacky is their handicook night which is being held at the restaurant tomorrow evening. An annual event, it will give diners the chance to eat the sort of traditional food that an Asian family might eat at home.
