Le Whif: it's French for breathable chocolate

Ever wondered why the French supposedly don’t get fat? I think I may have found the answer. They don’t actually eat their food. They just inhale it using something with the unlikely name of Le Whif.

Developed by Paris-based laboratories, Le Whif is a sort of lipstick-sized inhaler filled with tiny chocolate particles. The idea is to breathe it in through the mouth and the choco bits fall on your tongue.

Voila! All the taste of chocolate but none of the calories.

When I first saw this, I had to check the calendar to make sure that it wasn’t April Fool’s Day. Maybe I just lack the aesthetic sensitivity of our French cousins but getting a slight whiff of chocolate and a tiny taster of the stuff would not really be enough for me.

I suspect that it would just make me want to run down to the shops and buy a family pack of Mars Bars.
