It’s been a long time coming but it would seem that G1 have rounded the final bend and are on the home straight to launch their latest venture in St Andrews.

They already have The Victoria Cafe Bar on St Mary Street but, as spring rolls into summer, we can look out for the Mitchell deli and cafe and then The Bothy, all on Market Street.

The St Andrews’ Bothy follows successful bothies (? bothettes?) in Perth, Aberdeen and Glasgow. Click on the links to see what 5pm deals are available at the existing outlets.

Executive Chef Stuart Wilson and Masterchef Graham Harvey are aiming to serve ‘the freshest, best, local, Scottish, seasonal produce’.

Many of the dishes sold in the cafe will also be available to take away in the deli. The deli cafe menu includes choices such as Cullen skink, pork ‘n’ apple pie, eggs Benedict and slow roast spring chicken stew.

Absolute, exact opening dates are still to be announced but they are currently hiring staff for the deli and cafe which suggests that they aim to open the doors fairly soon. We’ll keep you updated.
