Did you really think that the events I mentioned in my last blog post were the only ones we had for the GRA’s rather brilliant ‘Who Gives A Fork?’ campaign? Shame on you! We’ve got even MORE charity evenings in place to help raise funds for the Maggie’s Caring Centres in Glasgow 🙂

Caught your interest? Then read on!

Ladies everywhere are invited to pamper and rejuvenate themselves, at 5pm’s EXCLUSIVE pampering event on the Wednesday the 1st of June at No 29’s rather glam Rooftop Terrace (altogether now… ‘oooooh!‘). Tickets are £20 per person, and the night will include mini makeovers, hair consultations, mini facials and guests can check out the Summer Season collection from trendsetting Reiss, with personal shoppers available to offer styling advice for this range.

All guests will receive a great goody bag, and there’ll also be a charity raffle with the chance to win some terrific prizes AND also the exceptional lucky chance to win a £100 Reiss Gift Card or Bleecker Handbag worth £245 donated by Reiss.

Wait! I’m not done yet! Guests will also receive a free gift when buying two or more purchases on the night.

Phew! Not too shabby. AND it’s for charity. Where do I sign up? 😀

There’s also a star studded event at the newly refurbished Corinthian Club, with Tom Urie from River City hosting a singing competition between various media, sport and television stars.

Taking place on Thursday the 26th of May, Tom will be playing piano and judging each guest’s singing performance – so you’ll soon find out who has hidden talents and who needs a bucket to carry a tune. It’s a unique night, and priced at £10 per person it’s also going to be a memorable one. 🙂

Do you ever feel like something a little different, food-wise?  Then look no further than Alla Turca‘s 3 Course Turkish Lunch on Friday the 27th of May, with Champagne cocktails and live background music!

There’s no need for guests to don a fez to attend (a restaurant full of diners in Tommy Cooper’s famous get up would be pretty amusing, though) – just treat your tastebuds and enjoy an atmospheric dining experience.

And if you fancy something a wee bit more traditional, then Biadh (pronounced Bee-uch) at MacSorley’s Music Bar are also in on the fundraising action, hosting their Highlander’s Banquet on Sunday the 29th of May – which they promise will fill the belly of even the hungriest highlander!

And with promises of spit-roasted Highland Beef, a range of fresh Island seafood and Highland produce AND whisky sampling and ale tasting, guests are even going to be treated to a few other surprises, and all for £25 per person.

Sounds like a brilliant way to celebrate Highland and Island heritage – without the need to get your kilt on and run through the city centre yelling ‘Freedom!’. If that’s your thing, though, then we promise we won’t judge you.
