The Wagamama chain sells 1500 portions of edamame beans every week

Well, it’s been previewing for a few days but Wagamama opens officially in Edinburgh today.

Phenomenally successful, the pan-Asian chain introduced Japanese ramen or noodles to the British High Street and we took to them to our hearts like bankers to a bonus.

There are dozens of Wagamamas throughout the UK along with a couple in Glasgow and one in Livingston but this is a first for the capital. The new branch is on the junction of Castle Terrace and Lothian Road.

Between them, all the Wagamama branches sell some twelve tonnes of noodles every single week.
