Afternoon tea is enjoying a surge in popularity

Afternoon tea has never been more popular but it can be a minefield for those with a gluten intolerance.

Help is at hand in The Scotsman Hotel in Edinburgh which is launching a gluten-free afternoon tea in conjunction with Genius Foods.

The official launch takes place on Tuesday 11th September at 2pm with Genius Foods Founder Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne.

Lucinda has teamed up with The Scotsman’s Exec Head Chef Paul Hart to create a gluten free version of the hotel’s afternoon tea.

If you want to pop along for a glass of Prosecco and the opportunity to sample the goodies then simply RSVP to info@gemmawilsonpr.co.uk

If you enjoy the afternoon tea then you may want to book into the hotel’s North Bridge Brasserie where Paul cooks up dishes such as roasted Cairn Hill Farm pork belly, pickled spring cabbage, green lentils and morteau sausage sauce.

Through 5pm, the brasserie is currently running a 2 for 1 deal on main courses from the a la carte menu at lunch or dinner.

You can also see all of 5pm’s afternoon tea offers in Edinburgh and Glasgow here.
