The pumps are primed at Drygate.

The 5pm Dining blog is getting all flustered about the imminent launch of Drygate, the new brewery, bar and restaurant on Glasgow’s Duke Street.

Scheduled to open on Saturday 10th May, the project is a collaboration between Williams Bros brewers and the C&C Group who brew Tennent’s.

Billed as ‘Glasgow’s first urban craft brewery’, the space will feature a 24 tap beer hall, an elevated beer garden, a multifunctional venue/gallery space, a bottle shop and a restaurant with views through to the brewery.

DIY beer

The brewing boffins aim to produce one million litres of craft beer each year but there will also be the chance for amateur brewers to try their hand. The Drygate studio kit can be hired out by budding brewers who want to create their own beers.

V@Drygate is the name of the restaurant and it is said to share features with the excellent Vintage bar in Edinburgh’s Leith.

Octopus pastrami

Modern British is the theme of the menu and, as at The Vintage, diners can look forward to superlative British charcuterie along with dishes such as pork cola cubes and octopus pastrami.

In the beer hall, the kitchen will be dishing up burgers based around hop varieties.

The 5pm Dining blog touched briefly on the brewery’s label designs previously. You can see more of them here.
