][1]The 5pm Dining blog has rarely turned down a gin so we were tickled to learn of Glasgow’s first GinFest which is taking place at the Barras Art and Design centre at Calton Entry.
The event is being run by The Gin Factory, a small group of gin enthusiasts with the inspiring motto: gin by the people, for the people.
Taking place on Saturday 4th October, the evening event will showcase some of the best and newest gins available, including appearances from some of Scotland’s newest distillers.
As well as live music, there will be a master class led by distillers and the opportunity to buy a gin flight/food pairing.
Among the recently launched Scottish gins likely to be making an appearance are Strathearn Gin from Perthshire, Rock Rose from Caithness and Makar Glasgow Gin from the Glasgow Distillery Co.
Entry is £6.50, including booking fee.
