In prime location on the corner of Buchanan Street and Nelson Mandela Square, Amarone Glasgow is a modern stylish Italian restaurant and perfect for a meal after Christmas shopping or before Christmas entertainment in the city centre.

Here’s what one 5pm diner had to say:

“A brilliant restaurant. It was full from the time we arrived at 5.30 until we left. The place had a modern romantic feel to it. My husband and I went before going to the Concert Hall which is 2 mins walk away. The food was so well prepared and tasted amazing. It was hard to choose from the well selected menu. We visit a lot of Italian restaurants but my husband said the Tiramisu was the best he’d ever had. We will be going back soon.”

Tempus – Grand Central Hotel

Tempus at Grand Central Hotel

Tempus in Grand Central echoes the opulence of a by gone age but with a modern interpretation.

During renovations two stunning Murano chandeliers were discovered and now hang beautiful in the restaurant.

Warm tones, beautiful original features and an elegant style complement the Scottish food that uses the best in local produce.

Here’s a growing review from 5pm diner Anne:

“Great family night out, the food is to the highest standard we have ever experienced on a Glasgow night out. The restaurant fulfilled our request we put on 5pm booking form, for extra room for a couple joining us later for a drink, but due our high praise for the beautiful food they had dinner too, without the 5pm deal.”

£18.95 for 2 course lunch from Christmas Menu + fizz (£21.95 for dinner) – available here.

Bo’Vine

A steakhouse on Byres Road, Bo’Vine has a stylish decor with soft leather booths, chesterfield sofas and cow hide wall covers.

With delicious steaks, it’s a meat lovers perfect option for a festive treat.

5pm Diner Diann says:

“Just go – I won’t even try to describe how good this place is – the steaks are amazing. The Market Menu is the best value for money in the West End.”
