“Fair fa’ your honest, sonsie face, Great chieftain o the puddin’-race!” This weekend is the time to tuck into haggis, neeps and tatties for Burns Day on Sunday. Our restaurants have given us Burns dining offers in Glasgow and Edinburgh featuring menus with scrumptious traditional Scottish dishes. Check them out below.

29 – The Grill At The Square’s event is for those who don’t take their Burns nights too seriously. With entertainment from the Caledonian Cowboy and Wee Jock and friends, the night includes Scottish songs both old and new, poems, a quiz and a sing song, as well as a delicious three course menu featuring modern Scottish favourites.

£25 for 3 courses on the Burns menu plus coffee (Thursday 22nd January 7pm) at 29 – The Grill At The Square

Corinthian Club

Corinthian’s Burns menu sidesteps tradition, offering breaded haggis balls with neeps and tatties and whisky sauce as a starter, not a main. The rest of the menu is packed with Scottish produce, including beef roulade with black pudding, mustard mash and whisky sauce, beetroot and ricotta tortellini with wild mushroom and truffle oil, and whisky chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream.

£25 for 3 courses on Burns menu at the Corinthian Club.

Den

Den’s Burns menu reflects their restaurant’s ethos: simple, seasonal and scrumptious. As well as a piper and address to the haggis there’s one option for each course: Hendricks Gin & dill infused Scottish salmon gravlax with lemon dressed salad as a starter; haggis, creamed neeps & mashed tatties, with whisky cream sauce (veggie haggis available) as a main; and cranachan for dessert.

£25 for 3 courses on Burns Supper menu + dram at Den.

The Chippy Doon the Lane

Burns was an unpretentious type and we think if he was around today he would probably prefer to have a good old fashioned chippie for his celebration. Glasgow’s The Chippy Doon the Lane is offering a “Burns Supper” on the 25th which includes battered haggis fritters, chipped potatoes and mashed neeps with a 175ml glass of house wine or a bottle of beer to toast to The Bard.

£8.95 for a Burns Supper + drink at The Chippy Doon the Lane.

Edinburgh’s Cranston’s is another menu opting out of the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties, offering instead pork with haggis and roasted rhubarb and roasted neeps and tatties served with parmesan cheese separately as vegetarian dish. The rest of the menu is packed with Scottish options such as Scottish rib eye with whisky sauce and cranachan.

£24.95 for 2 Courses on the Burns Supper Menu at Cranston’s.

MP’s Bistro

MP’s bistro is a whisky loving restaurant with selected malt every month and included in the Burns supper is a a glass of Glenkinchie 10yr malt whisky.
