Ayrshire’s ever innovative Buzzworks group opens a second branch of their Lido brand in Prestwick this morning.

The new Lido is on the Main Street premises which were formerly home to Dome, another Buzzworks brand.

The original Lido is in Troon. The Buzzworks portfolio also includes Scotts in Largs and Troon; The Longhouse in Kilmarnock; Elliots in Prestwick and Treehouse in Ayr.

The Prestwick Lido has been running soft openings over the last few days but it officially opened its doors to the public at 8.30am this morning.

All day dining

If it follows in the footsteps of the Troon Lido then the people of Prestwick can dine all day from breakfast to dinner.

Customers can start the day with berries, yoghurt and granola or the rather more decadent Buzz Works full breakfast.

At lunch and dinner, the menu ranges from sandwiches to pizza, char grilled steaks and a selection of BBQ dishes such as sticky ribs or slow roasted chicken.

There are also Lido chef specialities like the Catalan style fish stew and lamb tagine.

Naturally, there are burgers to be had as well as desserts which are baked fresh in-house at the Buzzworks Bakehouse.
