There’s something particularly indulgent about treating yourself to breakfast. Fresh eggs, mountains of toast, freshly squeezed orange juice, maybe even a glass of Prosecco if you’re feeling extravagant. We’ve taken a look at our breakfast and brunch offers on 5pm and listed the picks that will start your day on the right foot.

The Social (Royal Exchange Square)

If the weather is nice you can even sit outdoors for a true European cafe culture experience. The Social’s breakfast and brunch menu includes a full breakfast, a veggie breakfast, eggs Benedict, or pancakes with bacon and maple syrup.

The Art School

10644762_798836420168289_8923003425685228119_oGlasgow’s Art School has a mammoth Saturday brunch menu that ranges from traditional brunch dishes to French Croque Monsieur to steamed Chinese buns. On 5pm Dining all of the dishes cost a fiver and the best bit – they come with a cocktail.

£5 per person for 1 course on the Saturday brunch menu (includes a cocktail) at The Art School on 5pm Dining.

Rioja

Screen Shot 2015-04-13 at 14.55.48Rioja’s breakfast menu is a treat to behold; two sections divided into Spanish and Scottish, there’s a wealth of dishes to choose from, including Pan Catalan con Jamon Iberico – (toast with tomato and Iberian ham, the most popular Spanish breakfast), Café y Magdalenas  (Spanish Blueberry muffins with a hot drink) and two full cooked breakfast options. Rioja is based in Glasgow’s Finnieston, now well beyond up and coming and widely regarded as Glasgow’s coolest neighbourhood.

£6 for Eggs Royale or Florentine or Benedict, £8 for Big Rioja’s breakfast, £8.50 for full Spanish breakfast at Rioja on 5pm Dining.

The Pacific

1510965_1574376179468952_7401140947698003259_nBringing a spot of sunshine to Glasgow’s Dumbarton Road, The Pacific serves a cocktail of Hawaiian, Thai and and Mexican dishes as well as a number of actual cocktails with inventive names such as Rum Bongo and Nuclear Banana Daiquiri. Their breakfast menu includes The Pacific breakfast or the Full Island breakfast which includes piles of bacon, eggs, sausage and other treats such as hash browns, French toast, Stornaway black pudding and is served with a cup of tea, coffee or glass of orange juice.

56 North

56-north-whole-room56 North in Edinburgh’s South Side is a bright and airy bar/restaurant with floor to ceiling windows, cosy booths and a big screen for sports fans. Their brunch and lunch menu includes two versions of a full Scottish breakfast, including the mammoth hearty breakfast, as well as Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs on toasted brioche and Belgian waffles with smoked bacon and maple syrup.

Waverley Tea Rooms

Their extensive brunch menu includes all the favourites such as French toast, pancakes, a full breakfast plus lots more.

O Sole Mio

10155605_698009716916989_1210333569_nLocated on Bath Street just a moment away from shopping mecca Buchanan Quarter, O Sole Mio first opened its doors in 1965 and since then has remained a favourite amongst Glasgow’s Italian and pizza fans. Their breakfast sticks closer to home, with a full Scottish offering (egg, sausage, bacon, black pudding, mushrooms, tomatoes & potato scone) as well as a vegetarian alternative (eggs, potato scones, beans, mushrooms & tomatoes).

£5.95 for the full Scottish breakfast or £4.95 for the vegetable breakfast at O Sole Mio on 5pm Dining.

Tinto

pgP0uoTGTX7One of four Tinto Tapas Bars, this West End branch on Hyndland Street is a cosy, welcoming spot for a cup of coffee and churros or a tapas feast with friends. It’s also a great spot for breakfast, serving a a full breakfast of sausage, bacon, potato scone, black pudding, tomato, scrambled/fried egg, mushrooms, beans and toast.
