Pickled Ginger: bringing sushi to Finnieston.
Pickled Ginger: bringing sushi to Finnieston.

The 5pm Dining blog is delighted to welcome Pickled Ginger to the 5pm fold.

The Finnieston restaurant opened on St Vincent Street a couple of weeks back and seems to be going great guns.

It’s a contemporary Japanese restaurant. We have written a full description here so let’s just say that it looks well funky.

Obviously, they serve sushi and sashimi as well as ramen dishes, Korean bulgoki, gyoza and all manner of other good things.

DJs kick the pace up at weekends.

New 5pm members

Sticking with Glasgow, 5pm Dining is on the cusp of featuring three more restaurants: Abode Glasgow Lounge Bar; the Live Inn Room at Park Inn by Radisson and the GoGrill Restaurant.

The latter is the new Scottish restaurant in GoGlasgow Urban Hotel – a new Crerar hotel on Paisley Road West.

Lots more info soon.

New Edinburgh restaurants

Over in Edinburgh, we notice that Kopitiam, a new Malaysian restaurant, has opened in the North Bridge Arcade.

According to this review on Lunchquest, it’s linked to the rather fab Kampung Ali restaurants.

Last, but in no way least, come July, Innis & Gunn are to open a bar on Lothian Road in the former Club Rouge.

The STV Edinburgh city site has all the info.
