On Monday, we told you about this weekend’s fab-sounding Mhor Festival in rural Perthshire.

Happily for confirmed city dwellers who get slightly anxious at the thought of the countryside, there is also plenty going on in Edinburgh.

Previously, we blogged about the Whisky Stramash but it’s not the only show in town this Bank Holiday weekend.

On Sunday, the Old Town Street Festival is back in action at the ever lively Three Sisters in The Cowgate.

Street food

Festival-goers are promised three music stages with over twenty live acts and multiple DJs.

There will be seven bars including a specialised real ale bar plus a great range of pop-up street food stalls. If you have never tasted a Venezuelan arupa before then now is your chance.

Entry is free and it all kicks off from noon.

As you all know, come late Saturday night/early Sunday morning, the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest will have been announced.

By the time Sunday afternoon rolls around, some tunes, a couple of beers and something tasty from the Babu Bombay Street Kitchen will seem like the ideal recovery scenario after the previous night’s excitement.

Live music

If you can’t get enough music, food, drinks and theatre, then you may also want to check out the Hidden Door festival which is taking place at King Stable Road, at the other end of the Grassmarket from The Three Sisters.

Running from this Friday until the 30th of May, it is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run mix of visual art, music, theatre, dance and cinema.

With street food and plenty of drink options.
