The UK, and Scotland in particular, have gone gin crazy over the last few years. New Scottish gin brands seem to launch every month and dedicated gin bars such as 56 North are a much loved feature of our bar scene.

Gin-lovers can indulge their passion this weekend as the second Scottish Juniper Festival sets up shop in Edinburgh’s Summerhall.

The three day event, which takes from tomorrow to Sunday, will host a large collection of delightful gin brands from Scotland and further afield.

No.3 Gin, Opihr, Pickering’s, Daffy’s, Darnley’s View & Spiced Gins, as well as Rock Rose Gin, Portobello Road Gin and Ish Gin will all feature.

World of gin

Martin Duffy, founder, Scottish Juniper Festival commented:

‘The Scottish Juniper Festival was launched last year and it was such a success we’ve decided to bring it back in 2015.  Gin has always been a British classic but the gin scene is really thriving at the moment with so many new flavours and serves being championed by international, UK and Scottish gin brands. It’s a fantastic time for gin lovers with a whole new world of gin to explore and sample!’

‘Over three days the festival showcases a variety of these extraordinary gins through engaging talks and mixology sessions and best yet, there is the opportunity for everyone who comes along to sample them!’
