The Drygate team get ready to welcome Craft Beer Rising.
The Drygate team get ready to welcome Craft Beer Rising.

Monday morning, my old friend. Here we are again, eh?

Fortunately, there is light at the end of the working week. Looking forward to Friday, there is much to smile about.

In fact, to use a technical term from the events and marketing world, there is pure tonnes of brill stuff going on this weekend.

Over the next few days, we’ll be bringing you all the relevant info on Dundee Flower and Food Festival and the inaugural Let’s Eat Glasgow.

Right now, we’ll whet your appetite for Craft Beer Rising, the two day celebration of street food, cider, beer and music which is taking place at Glasgow’s Drygate this coming Friday and Saturday.

150 beers to sample

Taking place across three sessions, festival goers can look forward to sampling up to 150 beers from 30 local and international breweries, including Williams Bros, Harviestoun, Innis & Gunn, West, Stewart Brewing, Oakham Ales, Wooha, Belhaven and Drygate.

Building on the success of last year, over 2,000 people are expected to attend.

Attendees will be able to match their beers to food from outfits such as Babu Kitchen, Ugly Burger and The Meat Merchants.

For something a little different, you might want to wander over to Rabbie’s Highland Bothy which will be serving seaweed soups alongside Scottish cheeses and smoked salmon salads.

DJ Food is headlining the Friday night session and Friendly Fires will be headlining with a DJ set on the Saturday night.

Sessions are as follows:

Friday 4th September: 6pm-1am,

Saturday 5th September: 11am-5.30pm; 6pm-1am.

Tickets for each session are £12. Evening sessions are over 18s only. Minors are welcome for the Saturday daytime session if accompanied by an adult.
