Those of you who can remember September may recall that we blogged about the Cocktails in the City event taking place in Edinburgh in October.
Well, we don’t know where the time has gone but Cocktails in the City has arrived and takes place tonight and tomorrow from 7pm.
Held in the glorious Mansfield Traquair, some sixteen bars from across the capital will be stirring, shaking and making their finest cocktails.
There will be food, DJs, demos, tasting tables and all sorts of other shenanigans.

Just get you in the mood, here are a couple of cocktails from The Whistle Stop Barber Shop and 56 North – two bars who also have some tasty 5pm offers.
The Whistle Stop Barber Shop is currently offering a 20% discount on their a la carte prices if you book through 5pm while 56 North is offering two brunch main courses for a tenner.
The Whistle Stop Barber Shop
Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
25ml Tia Maria
15‑20ml Monin syrup
25ml vodka
35ml fresh espresso
Method:
Blend together and serve over ice in a coupette glass.
56 North
The Dunnet Fling
Ingredients:
40ml Rock Rose Gin
10ml Grand Marnier
15ml blood orange Juice
10ml lemon Juice
5ml Maraschino
Method:
Shake all ingredients in Boston shaker over cubed ice. Double strain into chilled coupette glass. Garnish with dehydrated orange. Rim and sprig of rosemary.
If you don’t have a dehydrated orange slice, check down the back of your sofa. I found two in mine.
