Celtic Connections launched last night with a fantastic concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. From now until the end of January, Glasgow will be filled with musicians from all over the world giving concerts everywhere from Oran Mor to the Tron Theatre.

If you are going to any of the gigs – and there is a huge variety to choose from – then you might want to grab a bite to eat beforehand.

Which is when you might want to start thinking about the fantastic offers available on the 5pm January Sale.

It’s very straightforward. Dozens of the most popular restaurants in Glasgow are offering two or three course menus for £12. Some even include a drink in the price.

Search by date, cusine, location

You can see all of the Glasgow offers here. You can browse them by date, type of cuisine and location. The latter is particularly handy if you want to find an offer close to a venue.

For example, if you were heading to tonight’s hoedown at the Old Fruitmarket with Skerryvore and We Banjo 3 then you could search for 5pm January Sale offers in the Merchant City.

There are twelve available today – the offers will vary from day to day – and these range from pan-Asian fusion dishes at the newest branch of Bar Soba in Merchant Square to an amazing deal on a fish tea for two at Avant Garde on King Street.

Of course, you don’t need to be going to a Celtic Connections event to enjoy these fantastic offers.

Heading to Finnieston for a few drinks tonight? Swing by Rioja on Argyle Street. They are offering three tapas from the pre-theatre menu and a glass of wine for £12 before 6pm.

More of a Southside vibe going on? The Fish People Cafe will offer two courses plus a glass of wine from the lunch or early evening menu for £12.
