The Six Nations bursts into life on the 6th of February with Scotland facing England at Murrayfield while France takes on Italy at home.

In Edinburgh, The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is kicking off early (that’s the last sporting pun I’ll attempt) with a Six Nations themed set of paired dishes and drinks which will be served in One Square Bar from Wednesday 27 January.

The Six Nations food and drink matches are part of a wider, year-long program of pairings.

The hotel’s Executive Chef Craig Hart drew inspiration from the six nations that participate in the tournament and the bar team carefully selected drinks to accentuate the flavours.

Talisker Vs Curious Brew

It’s a good, fun promotion with all six nations represented by a different food and drink pairing.

Scotland is repped by haggis bon bons with a Talisker Whisky brose paired with Bitter & Twisted Golden Ale while Whitby Scampi and tartare sauce paired with Curious Brew Lager, are flying the flag for Scotland’s first opponents, England.

Tristan Nesbitt, General Manager at the Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa commented: ‘The Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa is renowned as the gathering place during the Six Nations Tournament where guests, and many locals, meet to enjoy our fun atmosphere over a game of rugby. We are delighted to kick off this exciting tournament with our Six Nations Paired programme, one of many exciting themes for the year ahead.’

The Six Nations inspired plates, available daily in One Square Bar from 27 January until 19 March, are priced from £6.50, with paired drinks from £5. All of the Six Nations matches will be shown on the big screen at One Square Bar.
