The B's Knees: as drunk by the cream of the pop world.
The B’s Knees: as drunk by the cream of the pop world.

For reasons which we can’t fathom, it seems as though the organisers of tomorrow’s BRIT Awards have, yet again, forgotten to send an invite to the 5pm Dining blog.

Adele, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber are all nominated for awards but, so far anyway, none of them have returned our messages asking if they have any spare invites.

Fickle bunch. Never liked Bieber, TBH. Not certain of this but suspect he was cheating the last time I played him at Scrabble.

Anyway, we may not be able to mingle with the cream of the pop world but we can drink like them.

NB Gin, the multi-award-winning premium spirit produced in North Berwick, is supplying cocktails for the Sony Music BRIT Awards After Party for the second year running.

NB Distillery’s expert mixologist has been hard at work deciding on some exclusive cocktails befitting of the occasion.

Sip a B’s Knees

A definite fixture on the menu for this year’s 600-strong party guest list will be the B’s Knees, made with NB Gin, lemon, honey, rosemary and crushed black peppercorns.

You will need to make the B’s syrup in advance but it’s not a difficult cocktail to knock up.

Here’s the recipe but, if you’ll excuse me, I need to dash and work on my acceptance speech for Best Male Artist.

I’ll be delivering it in my living room rather than The O2 but a man can dream…

If you like gin, you will love our Scottish gin map.

B’s Knees

50ml NB Gin

25ml lemon

25ml B’s syrup

To make the B’s syrup dissolve 250ml of honey in 125ml of hot water. Add two rosemary sprigs and 5g of crushed black peppers.

Remove from heat and allow to steep for a couple of hours.

To make drink, shake all ingredients over ice and double strain into a coupe glass.
