Champagne and oysters may be a popular choice for Valentine’s Day but there is no reason to restrict such treats to one day a year.

Our friends at Edinburgh’s Galvin Brasserie de Luxe are running a Champagne and oyster tasting event on Thursday 25th February from 6.30pm.

For £19.50 per person, you can try four different varieties of oyster while sipping delicious Pommery Champagne.

If you can’t wait until then, you may want to snap up this Big Deal on steak frites and a glass of wine for two at the Brasserie.

It’s £29 and vouchers are valid seven days a week until the end of April.

Unveiled in the autumn of 2012, Galvin Brasserie de Luxe was the second Scottish restaurant from Michelin-starred chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin.

Paris in the heart of Edinburgh

Modelled on their first London venture, Bistrot de Luxe on Baker Street, the spacious brasserie offers a slice of Paris in the heart of Edinburgh.

With a theatrical crustacea showcase forming part of the large, central bar, the Brasserie is a popular meeting place for families, colleagues and friends.

This weekend, one imagines that it will be extremely popular with rugby fans as Scotland take on England at Murrayfield.

Michelin Bib Gourmand

Galvin Brasserie de Luxe was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in September 2013.

Bib Gourmands recognise establishments offering good food at affordable prices. The restaurant has also held an AA Rosette since 2013.
