It is all go at The Caley over the next few months.

We have already told you about the Galvins’ Week dinner and the Father’s Day events taking place this weekend at – we’re using the posh title this time – Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh – the Caledonian.

You may also want to keep an eye open for a very tasty Big Deal which starts its run tomorrow. You can enjoy a spectacular Chateaubriand steak for two with a bottle of wine selected by the sommelier for £55.

Quinta de la Rosa Wine Dinner

Tuesday 28th June

7pm, £99 per person (including wine)

Sophia Bergqvist, owner of the Quinta de la Rosa estate, will be in town for an exclusive wine dinner at The Pompadour. The small, family-owned estate in Northern Portugal on the banks of the Douro river produces some of the finest wines and ports in the region.

The evening will begin with Champagne and canapés before guests enjoy an exquisite five course menu devised by executive chef Fraser Allan, paired with a selection of wine and port.

Jazz Dinner

Thursday 7th July

7pm, £125 per person (including wine)

The Pompadour will come alive to the sound of jazz this July when The Robert Pettigrew Trio swing by.

Executive chef Fraser Allan has created a special five course tasting menu matched with a selection of fine wines for guests to enjoy whilst listening to live jazz.

The trio consists of Robert Pettigrew on piano, Gus Andrews on trumpet and flugelhorn, and Kenny Ellis on double bass. All three professional musicians have diverse musical backgrounds, working in theatre, concert hall, television and radio as well as the more intimate setting of jazz clubs.

Patrizia Baldini of Liberty Wines will be helping guests explore the wines of Italy at a special dinner. hosted. Executive chef Fraser Allan has created a five course menu to perfectly complement an exciting selection of Italian vintages.
