The bottomless brunch has long been a fixture in the States and, increasingly, in London. North of the border? Not so much.

We would be delighted to be told otherwise but, as far as the 5pm Dining blog is aware, the concept is pretty rare, if not non-existent, in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Tokyo take on brunch

Harajuku Kitchen in Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield is testing the market this weekend as the Japanese bistro launches its own version of the bottomless brunch. Though don’t count on hoovering pancake stacks or tucking into a full Scottish. This will be a Tokyo take on the bottomless brunch.

sushi

Every Saturday and Sunday from the 11th of June to the 31st of July, customers can indulge in bottomless Prosecco to complement their sushi brunch.

The brunch can be ordered in several forms. Guests can have a twelve piece sushi platter plus two small dishes (from a choice of three), or two small dishes (from a choice of three) and one large dish (from a choice of three).

AA Rosette

The Japanese bistro was recently awarded its first AA Rosette and, a couple of weeks back, it featured in a 5pm Dining blog with video of Chef Patron Kaori Simpson making okonomiyaki – a sort of Japanese pancake pizza.

If brunch doesn’t float your boat, there are plenty of other options available at Harajuku Kitchen. We like the £12.95 two course lunch offer.

As always, you can book Harajuku Kitchen through 5pm.
