Lebowskis South: just add customers.
Lebowskis South: just add customers.

After much to-ing and fro-ing over planning permission, the Kained bar and restaurant group will open the doors of Lebowskis South this Saturday.

The Kained team took over the old Sammy Dows Pub on Nithsdale Road in May of 2015 and have been hard at work transforming it in recent months.

Saturday night will see a public launch party. Open to all, it will feature a live band and DJ Pete from Hollywood Boulevard. There will also be samples of the Lebowskis signature burgers, specials, White Russians and beers.

OTT burgers

The Lebowskis brand started with Lebowskis West on Argyle Street in Finnieston – Kained’s first opening in 2007. The Edinburgh branch followed in 2009.

The new Southside venue is said to represent a fresher, more grown up and contemporary evolution of the Lebowskis brand.

At Lebowskis South, all the favourites from the menus at Lebowskis West and Lebowskis Edinburgh will be available.

However, Lebowskis South aims to step out from the shadow of its forebears with a new list of premium White Russians and a menu update featuring new showcase burgers which are billed as ‘bigger, more elaborate and completely over the top!’

The new look of the Lebowskis rebrand has been designed by the groups managing director, Graham Suttle, alongside Paul Martin of PMD. The aim was to make the unit a standout destination for the Strathbungo and Southside community.

Vibrant community

Kained Managing Director, Graham Suttle said, ‘We have such a wonderful, loyal following at Lebowskis. It gives us great delight to finally deliver what so many had asked for – Lebowskis Southside. We are very proud to be part of this already vibrant community and excited at the prospect of relaunching the brand here in pretty spectacular fashion.’

Lebowskis South opens on Saturday 25th June from noon, with the launch party from 5pm.

Other Kained Holdings ventures include So What Comes Next?, Porter & Rye, The Crafty Pig and The Finnieston.
