After work to their main and foyer bars, Tron Theatre has just completed their Tron Bar & Kitchen renovations with a revamp of the Victorian Bar.

It now promises ‘a refined, elegant experience to enjoy our new cocktail, gin, beer and dining menus’.

New partnerships with suppliers are in place and the venue now has Makar Gin as the house pour and Blue Moon on draft. Belhaven have also set up a rotational beer tap so that Tron Bar & Kitchen can offer customers a much wider range of craft beers than was previously available.

Tron Tasting Series

To showcase all the changes, they are launching the Tron Tasting Series. Executive Head Chef Mark McKenzie and his team have developed different five course tasting menus in association with their partner brands.

This is the programme:

Friday August 26th 2016 with Makar Gin

Friday Oct 7th 2016 with Peroni

Friday November 25th 2016 with Belhaven Brewery

Friday January 13th 2017 with Alliance Wines

Friday March 3rd 2017 with Blue Moon Craft Beer

Taking place later this month, the first event will feature a series of innovative cocktails featuring The Glasgow Distillery’s Makar Gin, paired with five sumptuous dishes created from some of the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Diners will start with a roast carrot and star anise velouté before sampling grilled langoustine with a lemon and fennel crab cake.

This will be followed by pan-seared salt cod with braised chicory, then a rump of lamb served with artichoke purée and black truffle glazed carrots.

A coconut panna cotta, pineapple salsa and passion fruit sorbet will round off your evening.

Mixology theatre

The Makar Brand Ambassador will bring a little theatre to the mixology, with each gin cocktail specially designed to complement perfectly the food on the plate.

Each of the Tasting Series events costs £40 per head and places are limited. You can book into the Tron Bar & Kitchen via 5pm.
