Located in the Grade A listed Hutchesons Hall on Ingram Street, its double-height Grand Hall has retained all of its beautiful stained glass, decorative panelling and ornate plasterwork. Porter & Rye

Part of the Finnieston strip of Argyle Street, Porter & Rye is one of the hip restaurants which have been responsible for the area’s culinary reputation over the last few years. Intimate and flatteringly dimly lit, it has a stylish decor that is half old school Manhattan steak house and half post-industrial warehouse. Porter & Rye’s main focus is steak, and their Christmas menu includes Gaindykehead farm belted Galloway beef, dry aged for 50 days and served with your choice of sauce and side in the cut of either fillet, sirloin, rump or bavette. The veggie main course option is chesnut mushroom wellington with braised red cabbage and sage sauce. Desserts include the blackberry panna cotta with cème fraiche ice cream and the mascarpone cheesecake with chocolate sponge, praline, pomegranate and caramel glass.
