Never mind turning water into wine. With Brewgooder, it’s all about turning beer into water.

If you haven’t come across the name before, they are craft brewers with a difference.

Since launching in 2016, they have had one simple objective: to provide clean water for 1,000,000 people through the power of their craft beer, Clean Water Lager.

The company donates 100% of their profits to clean water charities.

Brewgooder have helped more than 33,000 people

So far, they have helped to fund 60 projects for over 33,000 people in Malawi.

Thanks to a new partnership between Brewgooder and Kained Holdings, Glasgow beer lovers can now help the social enterprise towards their 1,000,000 target.

Clean Water Lager is now available on tap or in cans across Kained Holdings’ eight Glasgow venues: The Crafty Pig, The Duchess of Argyll, The Drugstore Social, Porter and RyeThe Finnieston, The Kelbourne Saint and both Lebowskis Finnieston and Southside.

James Kemp of Kained Holdings said: ‘We’ve been watching Brewgooder for a while now. We loved their story and the cause. It soon became clear that we shared similar values like honesty and community. Bringing them on board as a brand was an easy decision. Not only that, but the product is a great quality, easy-drinking lager that our customers will really enjoy.’

Clean drinking water

Alan Mahon, co-founder of Brewgooder, said: ‘Glasgow’s pub scene is one of the most thriving and dynamic in the UK and Kained Holdings has established itself as a major player in the city’s hospitality trade. Partnering with Kained allows us to bring Brewgooder to a new audience who not only appreciate great-tasting beer but also support our cause and ultimate ambition to provide one million people with clean drinking water.’

The beer is brewed in partnership with BrewDog at its Ellon brewery, at zero margin. All profits are donated to the Brewgooder Foundation whose trustees are made up of founders Alan Mahon, Josh Littlejohn, and BrewDog founders James Watt and Martin Dickie.

Drink beer and help other people get access to clean water. It’s a win win.
