New Glasgow restaurant
New restaurant in Glasgow: Finsbay Flat Iron will exhibit similar design quirks as the original Finsbay in Milngavie.

Looking for a new restaurant in Glasgow? Keep your peepers peeled for the Finsbay Flat Iron.

Earlier this month, we wrote about CocknBull, a pop-up which had taken over the Woodlands Road premises previously occupied by West On the Corner.

In around three weeks, the building will home the Finsbay Flat Iron.

As the name suggests, the new venture is from the team behind Finsbay café, bar and restaurant in Milngavie.

The idea is simple. The main thrust of Finsbay Flat Iron will be to serve 8oz flat iron steaks at £8 during the week and £10 on the weekends.

Sides such as mac ‘n’ cheese or triple-fried chips will start at £2. Diners will also be able to add on sauces for a small supplement.

The decor will take its cue from the kitsch vintage look of the Finsbay. For those who have yet to visit the Milngavie restaurant, think granny chic.

New restaurant in Glasgow: watch Six Nations

For diners who are less interested in design, a major selling point may well be the large screen showing all the Six Nations games.

Two of the team behind the venture will be familiar to followers of Scottish rugby. Alastair Kellock played for Scotland and Glasgow Warriors while Stuart Hogg has more than 50 caps for the national team.

At the moment, the idea is to run the Finsbay Flat Iron as a pop-up for twelve weeks.

If the formula proves successful, the team will make a decision about making it a permanent operation.

As we said, the new venture will open in approximately three weeks.

If you can’t wait that long, you can get a taste of Finsbay at the Milngavie restaurant.

We are currently running a couple of Big Deals with them.

This offer is for a main course plus a glass of wine for two people for £19.

If you prefer afternoon tea, this offer is for afternoon tea for two with a glass of fizz for £18.

We’ll bring you more info and contact details for Finsbay Flat Iron when it becomes available.
