Ibérica Glasgow
Ibérica Glasgow: authentic pintxos are just one of their specialities. Pic: [Facebook][1].

Ibérica Glasgow has just celebrated its first year in business by having a bit of a bash. We went along for jelly and cake.

Well, we say jelly and cake. We actually had ham, sherry and gin at the St Vincent Street restaurant.

Ibérica Glasgow may have only just reached its first birthday but it sure knows how to party.

The celebration seems like a good excuse to remind everyone of the many attractions of Ibérica Glasgow.

Ibérica Glasgow: Asturian bagpipes

Once a St Vincent Street bank, the red sandstone building looks great thanks to a stunning refurbishment by the Spanish designer Lazaro Rosa Violan.

Smart but casual, the restaurant’s design emphasizes the Celtic heritage shared by Northern Spain and Scotland, and includes a set of Asturian bagpipes.

Regional Spanish dishes

Ibérica’s menus are designed by the multi-Michelin starred Executive Head Chef Nacho Manzano.

Many of the dishes take their cue from the Asturias, the region of north west Spain which Manzano hails from.

Centred around top quality Spanish produce, the menus are seasonal and constantly evolving. In addition to a selection of authentic tapas, there are carefully sourced Spanish cheeses, cured meats and jamon from acorn-fed Iberian pigs alongside a grill selection of sirloin steak and interesting cuts of pork.

This blogger has yet to try them but colleagues have swooned over the locally sourced fried squid. The chefs coat it with breadcrumbs and serve with alioli sauce.

A bar menu and delicatessen selling Spanish delicacies complete the line-up.

If we have put you in the mood for some Asturian goodies then you can book in today with 5pm Dining.

Up until 5pm, you can enjoy three tapas for £11.95. Add another £3 and £14.95 will add a drink or dessert to your Ibérica Glasgow experience.

We would go for the kale salad with chickpeas and sweet potato; the  fried chorizo lollipops and the Spanish style mussels.
