Miss Woo's: Miss Woo's: your one stop shop for Asian fusion food and whoop-ass cocktails.

Looking for a new restaurant in Edinburgh? Swing by Miss Woo's in Leith, the latest place to join 5pm Dining's Edinburgh roster.

Mamasan's cocktail bar in Leith appears to have said 'Sayonara'. In its place Miss Woo's is offering crafty cocktails and street food with an Asian flavour.

It is a quirky bar on Bernard Street in Leith. Geisha murals, dim lighting and cool sounds give Miss Woo's an inviting underground feel.

Should you need a banana satay daiquiri or a Miso Lucky cocktail then Miss Woo's will do the do.

If craft beer is more your thing, they can also take care of that as well as offering an appealing selection of Asian street food.

Perhaps not surprisingly, many of the dishes at Miss Woo's would be perfect along with a beer or cocktail. From pulled pork bao buns and dumplings to spicy Korean wings, there is plenty to snack on.

There is even three types of fries. You could opt for the simple pleasures of the salt and chilli variety. Or you could tackle the  house dirty fries - salt and chilli fries topped with pulled pork, bacon, peach and porter.

A fun idea is the selection of soups served in a teapot. Designed to be shared, they come in two varieties. There is a clear soup with crispy tofu or a dashi base with bean sprouts, carrots, cauliflower, coriander, spring onion and chilli. You can add confit chicken, beef or pulled pork for £1.50.

More substantial choices might be the veg or chicken pad Thai or perhaps the sticky pork belly with Vietnamese salad. Any remaining space could be taken by the coconut panna cotta with pineapple salsa or a mango crème brûlée.

New-ish restaurant in Edinburgh: The Black Hoof

While we are here, we will also draw your attention to The Black Hoof.

A tapas bar and Spanish food deli, it opened on Dalry Road in November. They serve and sell all manner of top notch jamon Iberico, cured meats and Spanish cheeses.

They also serve tapas.
