Glasgow's Corinthian Club is possibly the most spectacular dining setting in Glasgow. The stunning venue, formerly a Merchant City bank, has elaborate cornicing, amazing gold leaf work and a dazzling glass dome.

The food lives up to the surroundings too, drawing on global influences as well as home-grown flavours. Dishes in the restaurant are cooked to order and the market menus change daily to showcase the best local produce available. We dined at Corinthian Club a few days ago and treated ourselves to an indulgent three courses.  Here's what we ate.

Chicken liver pate with pear chutney and toasted bread.

 

Chargrilled chicken with mushrooms, seasonal greens and roasted baby potatoes.

Seasonal mixed greens gnocchi.

Sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream.

Chocolate brownie with honeycomb ice cream.
