The Babygrand The Babygrand has had a £250,000 refurbishment including a new deli counter.

The Babygrand at Charing Cross may be over thirty years old but it still knows how to move with the times.

It has recently finished a five-week,  £250,000 refurbishment which has doubled the size of the late night piano bar.

As well as the expansion, the Glasgow institution has added a delicatessen with a vertical rotisserie and a new vegan menu.

Open seven days a week, with live music available Wednesday to Saturday, guests can choose to sit-in and enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner or something from the take-away menu.

Breathing life into their menus is Head Chef, Colin Campbell who previously owned the very popular Deli 1901 in Shawlands.

Speaking of his new role he said, 'I am delighted to come on board at The Babygrand, it is an extremely well respected piano bar and eatery which has withstood the test of time'.

The Babygrand: al fresco dining hot spot

As well as attracting fans with its late night piano bar atmosphere, the Babygrand is also popular with local office workers and visitors to the nearby King's Theatre.

The proximity to Charing Cross railway station doesn't hurt either.

Now, we don't want to tempt fate but we should also mention that the venue's large outside seating area is a major draw when the sun shines.

The weather last weekend may not have been all that encouraging for al fresco dining but we're confident that the summer ain't over yet.

As we mentioned at the beginning of the blog, The Babygand has been welcoming diners for over 30 years.

The recent refurb means that the Charing Cross favourite looks set fair for a further few decades.

You can book the new look Babygrand via 5pm Dining.
