While the football may be making all the headlines, we shouldn't forget the tennis. Get into the swing of things with the newly launched Wimbledon afternoon tea at Blythswood Square.

The Principal Blythswood Square Hotel, Glasgow has launched a new afternoon tea  to celebrate the return of the world’s greatest tennis tournament.

Executive head chef Zoltan Szabo has created a special afternoon tea with tennis-inspired cakes and biscuits, traditional scones and dainty sandwiches.

Guests are invited to indulge in a lilac elderflower macaron with Wimbledon logo; strawberry and Pimms tart, lemon meringue cones and pistachio and polenta cake.

Served with a selection of tea, preserves and clotted cream in The Salon overlooking the peaceful gardens of Blythswood Square, this is the ideal way to spend a leisurely afternoon.

The Wimbledon package is available from now until Sunday 15th July and starts at £24 per person.

Afternoon tea and more

Of course, 5pm Big Deals mean there are a number of ways to enjoy the five star Blythswood Square.

We have Big Deals on an evening spa party package; a Rhassoul experience and a strawberry cream tea.

The Salon at Principal Blythswood Square Hotel is a big hit with 5pm guests. This is what a recent guest had to say:
