Aiming to open this coming Friday, Crabshakk is a Scottish seafood restaurant which is casting its net out for customers on Glasgow’s Argyle Street.

‘The city has lots of fabulous fish restaurants and lots of chips shops,’ explains Lynne Jones who runs the place with her husband John Macleod. ‘We thought there is a gap in the market for something in between the two ends of the spectrum. We want Crabshakk to be informal and funky and we’ll be keeping the food very simple.’

Rather like the Tardis, Crabshakk’s exterior hides a spacious, three level restaurant with 55 covers. It features a short menu which runs from a portion of crab cakes or a shellfish chowder, both at £5.95, to a whole Scottish lobster, by far the most expensive dish on the menu at £38.

Apologies to the B52s for the headline.
