David Ramsden’s Dogs restaurant has been a howling success since it opened in Edinburgh last year. Packed tables, critical acclaim and a good showing at the Scottish Restaurant Awards have all underlined the popularity of the restaurant’s thrifty culinary chic.

Just over a year since The Dogs joined the pack of Edinburgh’s restaurants, Ramsden has announced that he plans to open a new, Italian-themed restaurant just a couple of doors up from the original on Hanover Street. Called (a)more dogs, it will be double the size of the first branch and hopes to start dishing up the doggie treats at the beginning of June.

Ramsden says: “(a)more dogs will continue with all that’s proved popular in our first venture – the only difference is that the food here will be Italian.  We will be offering well-loved Italian dishes, using seasonal ingredients, at excellent value for money prices.”

Should you fancy a plateful of pasta before then, 5pm members Gusto and Centotre are very nearby. Centotre celebrates its fifth birthday this weekend.
