Glasgow’s third Paperino restaurant opens today on the site of the former 78 St Vincent Street restaurant. Apparently, the Italian restaurants take their name from the Italian for Donald Duck, the Disney icon who, by happy coincidence, has his 75th birthday today. The Disney duck has proved remarkably endurable as has the Paperino formula.
If you want to see just what makes the Paperino restaurants tick then take a gander up West Nile Street where a large window has views into the heart of the Paperino kitchen. Run by the Giovanazzi family, the Paperino restaurants are designed to appeal to everybody on an everyday basis. If you had a more special occasion to celebrate, a 75th birthday for example, then you might want to try 5pm member La Parmigiana, another part of the Giovanazzi empire.
