In what will probably be this blog’s last mention of Hormel’s famous meat product for some time, there is a cheeky report on the Spam Cook of the Year competition here in The Times.

Interestingly, the winning dish of gruyere, Spam and potato gratin was one of the few entries not to try and incorporate a Spam pun into its title. While they may not have scooped the top prize, we should still salute those intrepid competitors who managed to come up with Spamdoori, Spamish Welsh Omelette and, this is good, Spamdora’s Box.
