If the idea of a nice cup of Rosie Lea stirs your passions more than a steaming mug of Java juice then you might be interested in the tea tasting events being held in Edinburgh’s new Eteaket cafe boutique.

Run by the boutique’s owner and enthusiastic teahead Erica Moore, each event will look at the character of ten teas from different countries including earthy oolongs, downy silver needles and grassy gunpowders.

Erica describes the evenings as being ‘similar to a wine tasting but with tea.’ The events finish with a cream tea and guests also get the chance to choose a caddie filled with their favourite brew of the night.

The events run on the last Thursday of every month. The first takes place this Thursday and costs £28.99 a head.

On a very broadly similar note, the Exchange Bar at the Sheraton in Edinburgh is celebrating the start of Wimbledon with a new menu inspired by strawberries and cream. You can cheer on Andy Murray while watching the action on the bar’s big screen and tucking into sweetmeats such as the strawberry and rose scented Eton mess with vanilla bean ice cream or just go old skool and scoff the fresh Scottish strawberries with your choice of pouring cream, whipped cream or clotted cream ice cream.

For something more substantial than strawbs, try the hotel’s Santini.
