We’ve already discussed the etiquette of eating out, but yesterday’s Word of Mouth blog brought a new issue to my attention: is it acceptable to photograph your food in a restaurant?  The rise of food blogs and more and more people classing themselves as ‘foodies’ means there’s been a rise in people snapping a pic of their dinner as a visual aid to their latest post or tweet.  But is it a bit rude?

I’m inclined to agree with the comment that if there’s no intrusive flash, and the photographer takes a quick discreet snap and doesn’t make a big performance of it then who cares?  But what do you think?  Would you be ok with a dining companion taking a photo of their (or your) food?  And are there any restaurateurs out there who wouldn’t be happy with a diner photographing their food in your restaurant?

At the risk of whipping up even more controversy if you’re dining out soon take a pic of your food and we’ll maybe put it on the blog!
