I also had a great time at the Foodies, although I went on Sunday, so it was a more wet and muddy affair. I’ve heard stories about people sitting on the grass in the sun on the Saturday sipping Pimms and Champagne. I’m trying not to feel bitter.
I did sample some lovely treats though, loads of great cheese, and black pudding, and haggis and sausages and a really nice cider that I can’t remember the name of but would definitely buy if I spotted it in a pub. Also picked up a few goodies to take home. My number one buy was Bougie’s gorgeous proper Parisian-style macarons, which didn’t even survive the train journey back to Glasgow (really regretting not buying two bags). Little Doone’s balsamic dressing was really lovely, so I bagged a bottle of that and am now desperately trying to think of things to do with it (suggestions? not salad). Tonight’s dinner will be a Simple Simon’s Perfect haggis and whiskey pie, if it’s nearly as good as the mexican chicken pie I tried I’ll be a lucky girl. And that will be followed by some Border Tablet, which is maybe the nicest tablet I’ve tried that wasn’t made my my friend Al’s gran.
Was disappointed that I didn’t get to try any squirrel though.
