As August draws to a close, the Gourmet Glasgow promotion is coming to an end but there are still plenty of events yet to take place.

Tonight, at L’Ariosto on Mitchell Street, they are running a special set menu as part of Gourmet Glasgow. Three courses and a half bottle of wine per person come in at £25 a head. An after dinner dram of Auchentoshan triple-distilled malt is part of the deal.

The dishes on the menu range from grilled sardines on toasted crostini with roasted vine tomatoes to linguine tossed with pancetta, egg and Parmesan cheese. After that little lot, not everybody will feel like dancing but if you do fancy a turn around L’Ariosto’s dancefloor then the house band, Limited Edition, will be belting out the old faves.

On a similar note, Amarone is celebrating Gourmet Glasgow this Sunday with a one off menu that fuses Scottish and Italian cuisine. Dishes on the menu include West Coast, pan seared scallops and butterflied king prawns to a chicken supreme stuffed with haggis, wrapped in pancetta and served with an Auchentoshan whisky sauce. The three course dinner costs £19.95 and includes a dram of the Auchentoshan.
