Edinburgh is ear-deep in jugglers for the next three weeks and it’s all rather fun. As always, there are plenty of shows with a food-related theme. The Fringe has listed a couple here. The most scary sounds Crocosmia, a show from the Little Bulb Theatre company who intend to eat 140 Battenburg cakes over the course of their show’s run. That adds up to a belt-busting 55,000 calories.

More anarchic fun can be had at Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience. Held over the course of a chaotic dinner service at B’est restaurant, the event is a side-splitting homage to the much-loved British sitcom. Australian actors playing Basil, Sybil and Manuel clamber among the diners/spectators in true Fawlty Towers style. Look out for an appearance by the infamous Siberian hamster. I saw it last year and thought it was a hoot.
