The former RSAC Club on Blythswood Square is in the process of being transformed into a rather swish hotel courtesy of the Town House company. Town House’s portfolio includes 5pm members Channings and Restaurant at the Bonham but Blythswood Square is to be their first Glasgow venture. The hotel was due to open in September but that has now been put back until the following month.

The hotel restaurant is in the club’s former ballroom and promises to be pretty spectacular. Daniel Hall is the man in charge of the kitchens and he is working on a menu that features both classic and contemporary dishes.

Also shaping up in Glasgow is a new place from Monir Mohammed, owner of the hugely popular Mother India restaurants. Sited on Argyle street, next to the Mother India Cafe, the new outlet looks as though it will be similar to Dining In, the deli and informal restaurant that Monir launched in Bearsden earlier this year. The new Dining In will sell cooked and chilled meals as well as all the ingredients necessary to make your own curries but will also feature a 24 seat dining area which will be known as the Den.
