McDonald’s is a very easy target to have a pop at but there is still something ironic about the idea that the fast food giant may be the only branded foot outlet allowed to trade in the 2012 Olympic venues.

Why not just go the whole hog and make the athletes wear fast food fancy dress? The idea of watching a McFlurry jumping the hurdles isn’t much more absurd than Maccy Ds being the most prominent food vendor at an event dedicated to peak fitness and sporting perfection.
