The Scottish Food and Drink Fortnight moves onto the main courses this weekend with eatBute and the East Renfrewshire Food Festival.

On Bute, this means food and craft fairs, cookery demos, market tours with chefs and tasting sessions. The star chefs and cooks include Skye Gyngell, Jeremy Lee, Rory O’Connell, Willie Pike and Nell Nelson, aka the woman who ate Scotland.

The East Renfrewshire event perhaps has more of an educational slant to it with sessions called ‘Fantastic fruits and versatile vegetables’ as well as Italian cookery classes and story-telling sessions. A cocktail class and whisky tasting add to the mix. The event launches at Clarkston Farmers’ Market tomorrow morning and continues until the 25th of September.
