The third Peebles Food Festival gets ready to rumble today. The fun gets going with a Ready, Steady, Cook competition this evening at the Eastgate Theatre with local chefs and towns people manning the stoves.

As well as a wine tasting from Kenneth Vannan of Villeneuve Wines, tomorrow afternoon features cookery demos from chefs such as Tony Singh of Oloroso and Tony’s Table; Rikki Preston, head and pastry chef at Restaurant Martin Wishart and Patrick Bardoulet of The Horseshoe.

On Sunday, local food producers will be selling their wares at the Food Market in the Gytes Leisure Centre.

Participating restaurants include 5pm members Castle Venlaw and the Macdonald Cardrona Hotel.
