The quest for the best fish supper, or rather the 2009 winner of the National Fish and Chip shop of the Year competition, continues.
This morning Seafish announced the 21 regional finalists who will go forward to the next stage of judging before the final in January.
For the purposes of the competition, Scotland has been divided in two. On the east coast, the Bay Fish & Chips shop in Stonehaven has gone through to the next round while in the west, Atlantic Fast Food will be flying the flag for Coatbridge.
Scottish chippies have a great track record in the competition with six of the previous 21 winners coming from north of the border.
