Following on from our tweet about the calorific delights of the Parmo, it was good to see the Americans reclaiming their junk food crown with this story about the Craz-E Burger. Bacon cheeseburgers are nothing new but serving them in a doughnut is hardcore.

Thanks to deep-fried pizza, deep-fried Mars Bars and chocolate naans, Scotland can hold its head high in the evil snacks department. Recent inventions such as the munchie box and its close cousin the hoagie have also done their bit to bring down the country’s life expectancy figures but I’m trying to track down any info on the delicacy known as the Clydeside Heart Stopper.

Legend has it that this beast of a snack is made from a deep-fried (obviously) Scotch pie which is served in a morning roll spread with lard. I’ve heard people mention it but have never seen it with my own eyes. Can any readers shed some light on the mystery?
