The Scottish leg of the Country Living Magazine Christmas fair sets out its stalls in the SECC in Glasgow from tomorrow. Many of the attractions at the four day fair may be a little twee for some. I can’t imagine what tortures would have to be threatened before I would sign up for a Christmas floral table setting workshop. However, if that’s what floats your boat then you can get stuck in to Christmas stocking classes, gift wrapping demos and enough soft furnishings to kit out a hundred old folks care homes.
Much more interesting, at least for the purposes of the 5pm blog, are the stall holders at the food fair and the chefs who will be strutting their stuff in the food and drink theatre. Among the kitchen kings and queens who will be appearing are the 5pm members Brian Maule of the Chardon D’Or, Jacqueline O’Donnell from The Sisters and Paul Tamburrini of Hotel Du Vin at One Devonshire.
