Beaker burns the toast
Beaker burns the toast

Ever wondered how to make your dinner parties that little bit more dramatic? Head along to the King’s Buildings in Edinburgh this evening and you can find out how to make instant ice cream using liquid nitrogen.

The free public lecture comes courtesy of boffins at the Centre for Science in Extreme Conditions. Titled as an Extreme Dining Event it promises a ‘four course journey in extreme dining with live demonstrations. Find out how extreme pressures and temperatures can be used to enhance your dining experience. Can you make diamonds out of peanuts? How can we remove caffeine from coffee? Can we make hot ice cream? Come along and find out what happens when you use extreme conditions in and out of the kitchen.’

The lecture starts at 7pm. The dress code is lab coats.
